Marriage is a practice, not just a moment

Whether you are preparing to get married or have been married for decades, counseling can help you communicate more effectively, navigate conflict with less damage, and build a partnership that sustains you both.

Pre-marital counseling is one of the most valuable investments a couple can make. Research consistently shows that couples who receive pre-marital counseling report significantly higher relationship satisfaction and lower divorce rates.

For couples already married, I provide a structured space to address patterns that have developed over time, process past hurts, and reorient toward the relationship you want to have.

Pre-marital counseling

We cover the topics that matter most — finances, family of origin, expectations, conflict resolution, intimacy, and more — before they become problems.

Marital counseling

For married couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to identify the cycles that create distance and disconnection, and build a more secure, satisfying bond.

Marriage Intensives

For couples who need more than regular sessions can offer — deep, focused work in 4-, 8-, or 16-hour formats.

Deep, focused work for couples who need more

When your relationship is in crisis, regular sessions can feel too slow. Sometimes the pain is too urgent, the patterns too entrenched, or the disconnection too deep to wait for the next appointment. A Marriage Intensive gives you the time, space, and emotional safety to slow down and finally get to the root of what's happening — without the pressure of the clock.

Half day

4-Hour Intensive

A focused session designed for couples who need clarity, stabilization, or help navigating a specific issue.

Full day

8-Hour Intensive

A full day of deep work — ideal for couples in distress, affair recovery, or long-standing patterns that need uninterrupted attention.

Two days

16-Hour Intensive

The most comprehensive option. Perfect for couples in crisis, couples traveling in, or those wanting accelerated transformation.

The approach

Every intensive is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), drawing from Sue Johnson's Hold Me Tight framework to help couples move from frustration and loneliness into a secure, loving bond. We work through attachment needs, heal past wounds, and transform cycles of conflict into patterns of responsiveness.

I also integrate Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy (RLT), which emphasizes honest accountability and the courage to move beyond blame and withdrawal. RLT teaches that genuine intimacy requires each partner to own their part in the cycle and practice love that is honest, direct, and compassionate.

Based on your Gottman Assessment, I incorporate structured communication tools, trust-building exercises, and conflict-repair skills — so you leave with a practical toolbox for lasting change.
